Just as the recent storm tore through the northwest the night before, Manchester City swept the visitors away at the their home ground. It was a statement three goal triumph for their manager's side thanks to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Hemp. It was a result that truly announced their title credentials as they consolidated their position at the WSL pinnacle.

Consecutive Setbacks for United

This scoreline marked successive league setbacks for Skinner's side for the maiden instance since spring 2024, leaving them seven points off the table toppers with their title hopes hanging by a thread.

United’s capability to juggle domestic and continental soccer with a small roster has been a hotly discussed issue since they secured entry to the UCL. Reviewing the fixture list, it always appeared this was the matchday that would truly test this capability. Team Changes
